NI Outdoor sports to restart tomorrow but for how long?

Before the current restrictions have even finished their is already talk that further restrictions may be needed in the fight against COVID 19.

CAI must commend groups and syndicates for the hard work they have put in to meet if not exceed the regulations so we can continue to take part in the sports we love and enjoy.

However further restrictions will be based on the all important R number and with increased household mixing being allowed over Christmas and the current trends by the wider public. It is highly likely there will be new restrictions

The Stormont executive has been advised that if the number of coronavirus cases rises sharply in the next few weeks, restrictions would need to be reimposed before the new year. Our friends in some parts of the hospitality sector are also cautious believing restrictions will be in place in early January.

With this in mind we encourage clubs to review their calendars and members to make the most of this period of easing responsibly, safely and inline with the current regulations.
